Working from behind the panel with precision rods, the technician applies controlled pressure to the lowest point of the dent and massages the metal back in tiny increments, reading the reflection of an LED line board across the panel to see high and low spots the naked eye would miss.

When there is no clean path behind the panel, glue pulling works from the front instead. That is the quiet financial argument for PDR. A conventional repair on a dented panel means filler and a respray, which fixes the look but permanently marks the panel as repainted. PDR removes the dent and leaves no such fingerprint, because nothing was added and nothing was sprayed. The dent is simply gone and the panel is original. For leased vehicles and anyone thinking about resale, that difference matters more than most people realize.

The best candidates are dents where the paint is intact and the metal is not torn or heavily creased. Door dings, shopping cart hits, rounded dents from a bumped bicycle or a dropped tailgate load, and many larger shallow dents all respond well.
